| Description | “Me So Horny” is the first single from 2 Live Crew’s groundbreaking, law-breaking, highly controversial and successful third album As Nasty As They Wanna Be. It was the group’s first of two top 30 US pop hits and it held the top spot on the US Rap Chart for four weeks. This song along with tracks like “Put Her In The Buck”, and “The Fuck Shop” led anti-pornography Florida lawyer Jack Thompson to take the group to court after engineering a campaign that led to the album, with its 87 descriptions of oral sex and 116 descriptions of male and female genitalia, being labelled obscene in Lee County, Florida, and therefore illegal to sell or perform live there. In June of 1990, a Fort Lauderdale record store owner was arrested for selling the album to an undercover police officer, and members of the group were arrested in Miami for performing songs from it. Eventually a jury acquitted the group. The main music sample used in “Me So Horny” is from Mass Production’s “Firecracker” off their 1979 album In the Purest Form. The line “Me So Horny” was taken from the 1987 film Full Metal Jacket. |
